U ever watch a creepy movie where they're out in the middle of nowhere and outta the blue a gas station or restaurant pops up and u always tell the person to just keep going cuz they almost always end up in some crazy situation....but they always stop there anyway!!! This is that place..... Difference here is that this place is gonna make you want to just stay!! First, I absolutely have to speak to the guy and his beautiful family!! Very pleasant and welcoming and they made everything PERFECT!!! 12 oz ribeye was juicy and delicious and came directly off the grill perfectly charred and grill marked!!! Not only was the baked potato huge, it was overstuffed with cheese, bacon, scallions, brisket....mannnnn! Dirty rice was delicious as well!!! Peach cobbler Delicious!!! This place has some of the best food in Houston!!! Why is nobody talking about them is my question! I work with different contractors almost every trip out here and not one person has mentioned this place!!! Get there! It's the hidden gem!!!
So...I was on the road & craving barbecue. I did what any smart person would do. I grabbed my phone & checked for YELP reviews in the area :) Tony's Barbecue popped up with (1) review that was a 5 star. When I pulled up I had my doubts but don't judge a book by its cover. Plenty of parking. Went inside & the place is set up cafeteria style order food on the right (to go)and/or sit in dinning area to the left. Place looked clean not sure about restrooms because I didn't use. Ordered the sliced Brisket sandwich with BBQ sauce on the side, wow...wow...wow...delicious. Meat was seasoned, tender & plenty of meat piled on the bun. It came on a hamburger brioche bun that was soft with a slight sweetness. I dipped & poured the BBQ sauce all over the sandwich which just made it 10x's better. You can always tell if a place has good BBQ by their sauce & Tony's sauce was good. It came with a side so I chose baked beans. I think they might be canned beans doctored up but they were good also. I asked for a sample of their potato salad which was delicious. I like mine a little on the sweet side so I AM sure they used the sweet relish instead of dill relish. Also ordered a link sausage sandwich & a peach cobbler. Link sandwich was good, plenty of meat & tasty.The cobbler was a 2 star. I would not order that again. Although they warmed it up for me, it lacked cinnamon, butter, brown sugar & good ole brown crunchy crust. Just didn't have that homemade look or taste. Their prices were very fair considering the healthy portions. If I AM in Houston again...I'd visit Tony's again :)
The food is good. Customer service is awesome, they give you a warm greeting when you walk in. Nice and cozy dining room with TVs.
